Noticed the next day how diffused the light was from the windows.
I think it will do the trick.
You have to give some thought to applying it.
Think first, cut second
The product seems ok. The packaging leaves a lot to be desired. Mine came damaged. The box and the product was damaged. Their customer service team starts quoting their policies rather than trying to help me out. I will not buy from here again. The damage does show on the finished product.
Joe, this review leaves out the single most important fact: you identified the alleged damage before installation and knowingly installed the material anyway.
Your original email did not ask us for a refund, replacement, credit, or any other remedy. You stated that the roll “must have been dented or damaged in shipping,” that the mark appeared through every layer, and then expressly told us: “We installed it anyway.”
Because you were claiming shipping damage, we asked the obvious and necessary question: why was material that you believed was damaged installed rather than preserved so the damage could be evaluated? Our terms require shipping damage to be reported before installation and require the material and packaging to be preserved so that we and, where appropriate, the carrier can inspect the claim.
Your explanation was that you already had a service appointment scheduled, your technician was being paid by the hour, and your customer wanted you to try installing it anyway. You additionally volunteered that your company does approximately $6 million annually in installation sales.
The size of your company is completely irrelevant. A company doing $6 million, $60 million, or $600 in annual sales is still responsible for inspecting material before knowingly cutting and installing something it believes was damaged in transit.
We then summarized your explanation back to you: that the apparent damage had been identified before installation, but your company elected to proceed because of the scheduled appointment, technician time, and the customer’s request. You expressly replied: “Yes that is correct.”
So describing our response as simply “quoting policies rather than trying to help” is materially incomplete. The policy became relevant precisely because your company knowingly installed material after identifying the alleged shipping damage, eliminating the ordinary opportunity to inspect the untouched product and packaging and properly evaluate a carrier claim.
We stand behind our products, but we cannot reasonably be expected to disregard documented claim procedures after a professional installer knowingly proceeds with installation and then complains afterward about the condition that was already identified beforehand.
Had new vinyl siding installed and was told about a few places where reflection off windows caused a few ripples in old siding. After much searching on how to remedy this I found this product. Very pleased with the black screen I chose to install. Installation was easy, just like the video showing how to install. After the screen was installed, the view out of the window was darker but still very good. Still trying to figure how to get some adhesive off the outside of screen but very pleased with this and feeling good about knowing the siding should be protected from warping.
The material seems high quality. Installation was pretty easy (once you learn a few lessons). We’ll see how it holds up in the brutal sun of my back patio!
After ordering the sample kit to see which product would work the best, I chose the product that very closely matches the window screen in the lower window. After viewing the DIY install video, I followed the dry installation procedure, which worked. The only issue I had was that the install on my house required the use of a shifting ladder, which made it a little more difficult because of having to stand on the ladder to get close enough to the window. The product does work.
